Klobuchar, Franken, Walz Announce More Than $780,000 for Infrastructure Improvements at Worthington Municipal Airport
WASHINGTON, DC – Senator Amy Klobuchar, Senator Al Franken, and Representative Tim Walz today announced that the U.S. Department of Transportation has awarded Worthington Municipal Airport a grant of $784,376 for infrastructure improvements.
“Improving our infrastructure not only supports good-paying jobs now, but also serves as a down payment on the long-term economic well-being of our state and country,” Klobuchar said. “By investing in Worthington Municipal Airport, we are helping create and support good-paying jobs across the area.”
“Infrastructure investments are critical to the health of our local and statewide economies, and I’m pleased to see that these funds will create good jobs in Nobles County,” Franken said. “This investment not only helps Worthington Municipal Airport provide efficient air travel to businesses and travelers, but also enhances public safety.”
“Investing in our airports is a vital part of rebuilding our nation's infrastructure,” Walz said. “Not only will this investment strengthen the Worthington Municipal Airport, it will also boost job growth in the community."
This grant will allow the airport to rehabilitate its runway.
