WASHINGTON D.C. — Today, Congressman Tim Walz applauded President Obama’s appointment of Colleen Landkamer to serve as State Director of USDA Rural Development. The Office of Rural Development promotes economic development in rural areas, supports public facilities and services like health clinics, water and sewer systems and electric service and provides technical assistance to rural communities.
“In these trying economic times, we need someone who can champion successful rural economic development initiatives that create jobs and build a stronger economy,” said Walz. “Commissioner Landkamer is just that person. She has extensive experience working with all levels of government to achieve results and build for a better future for generations to come. I applaud her appointment by President Obama as USDA Rural Development Director.”
