Mankato, MN — It is with great excitement that Representative Tim Walz announces that Josh Dulak from Winona Senior High is the winner of the Congressional Art Competition from Minnesota’s First Congressional District. The competition was part of the Annual Congressional Arts Competition, where all members of Congress promote and celebrate the creative spirit of American high school students across the country by conducting the annual competition.
“It is an honor to announce Josh Dulak, a student at Winona High School, as the winner of this year’s competition,” Walz said. “This is a unique competition that provides Members of Congress with the opportunity to showcase the artistic talent of students within their districts, and acknowledge our nation’s gifted young artists.”
Every member of Congress held a local competition to select one winning work of art. Dulak’s piece, a photograph entitled “Dashing through the Snow” will hang in the hallways of the United States Capitol for the next year. The artwork of the second and third place winners, Claire Smart of Winona and Ernesto Quezada of New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva, will hang in the Walz district offices in Mankato and Rochester, respectively.
